Shamshera Teaser Ranbir Kapoor, Vaani Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt Movie Release on 22 July

The latest instalment of the Jagga Jasoos sees Ranbir Kapoor’s character as an upright cop named Shamsher. Although the new movie is titled Shamshera, its tagline is “Power, Desperado & Dacoit”. The teaser of the film, which is set in the early 1900s, has him struggling against his arch-enemy, played by Sanjay Dutt. The song also showcases Ranbir’s de-glam look in a short, long-sleeved shirt, chinos, and a fedora hat. It’s clear that director Karan Malhotra (of the Channing Tatum film Step Up) has captured the energy of a heroic time in Indian history. Ranbir plays the vigilante dacoit in the film and Vaani Kapoor is his leading lady. The trio is set to fight it out in the on-screen rivalry and enjoy “loud!” style!
Ranbir’s co-star, Karan Malhotra shares, “Ranbir Kapoor will be playing an unlikely character in the film. It’s a character which has shades of grey. This is the film where Ranbir’s immense energy will be brought to life.
“It’s always a great joy to work with Ranbir. He is very gifted and can bring any character alive on-screen.” Vaani Kapoor adds that her character also has shades of grey.
Sanjay Dutt adds, “I am looking forward to the shoot as we have shot some amazing scenes together. It’s a film that will entertain the masses and has some really good music and action.”
Shamshera is directed by Karan Malhotra and produced by Yash Raj Films and Red Chillies Entertainment.
