The Indian government banned a total of 59 Chinese apps simultaneously in June, making a digital strike on China. The government had termed these apps a threat to the "sovereignty and integrity" of the country. These 59 Chinese apps also include ByteDance's popular video sharing app TikTok, Alibaba's UAC browser and Xiaomi's Mi Community app. Subsequently, the company had recently banned 47 Chinese apps which mostly consisted of clones, or a few different versions.

At the same time, according to the report of the news agency Reuters, the government has banned some more Chinese apps. According to information received from sources in the agency, the banned apps include Xiaomi's Mi Browser Pro and search app Baidu. However, like last time, the government has not made this ban public. But these apps have been removed from Google Play Store. This shows that they have been banned.

According to the report, it is not yet clear how many apps have been affected by this ban. India's IT Ministry and the Chinese Embassy in New Delhi did not respond to a request for comment. Let us know that China had earlier criticized the decision to ban India's apps. At the same time a Xiaomi spokesperson in India said that the company is trying to understand this development and will also take appropriate measures for it. Baidu declined to comment on this.

Although no announcement has been made officially yet, the ban on the Mi Browser app, which comes pre-loaded on most Xiaomi smartphones, may mean that the Chinese firm may sell it in India. Will need to be stopped from installing on new equipment.
